There’s been a lot going on the art + design scene in London this autumn. We’ve had the London Design Festival, the Frieze Art Fair at Regents Park and the ‘Big Draw – Campaign for Drawing’ this month with their many workshops, which sadly I couldn’t make out to but here are a few other art, crafts and design events that are coming up next month! So if you are interested in picking up a few bespoke items for your home, or as Christmas pressies….or simply fancy exploring these stalls for some inspiration then here are a few events to pencil into your diaries.
- 15th November : The Christmas Arcade @ Somerset House. ‘Handmade in Britain’ (see below) and Somerset House are introducing a new ‘pop up’ shop to display some of Britain’s finest works by designer-makers. It kicks off next month until the new year (till Jan 6th 2013)….and with the famous annual Skate taking place at the same time at one of London’s most iconic destinations as a backdrop, what better and beautiful way to celebrate the start of the festive winter season! - 16-18th November: Handmade in Britain @ the Chelsea Old Town Hall, featuring bespoke and high quality products by designers in Britain. Click here for more information and to buy tickets.
- 22-25th November: Made In Clerkenwell @ Craft Central Studios. If you’re looking for something more handmade and bespoke this Christmas as oppose to the usual high street items then this is a must-do/must-see event. Its a brilliant opportunity to browse through all things handmade that include textiles, ceramics, jewellery, printmaking and plenty more, designed by numerous in-house designers at Craft Central Studios. With the entrance fee being a mere £3, it really is worth visiting – I know wont be missing out on this! For a list of designers and further information click here, or check the poser below.
We’ll be heading out to these ourselves so will keep you posted on any interesting discoveries!!! Happy shopping (or window shopping)!!
