A custom-made wall art based from the one I had listed ages ago on my Esty shop (which btw, is closed for the next couple of months while im away and while working on rebranding the blog) This was made as a wedding present back in May where I played with several patterns and textures before settling for this floral one. I’ve now made another since then so it definitely seems like a winner! :) So if you are looking to get something similar done, then just drop me a line via the Contacts Page. xxx
A recent commissioned piece for the lovely Reema who wanted a little something special for her niece. We decided on this bunny motif for the baby grow (Reema’s nickname is ‘bunny’) and with the words “Bunny Loves You” which I thought was incredibly adorable.
The motif is made up of several pieves to make the appliqué which I then hand-stitched onto the baby grow. I really grew fond of this piece as it was something different from the elephant motifs I’ve done in the past. I’m actually quite tempted to make an adult size of this……..the bunny motif, not the babygrow!! :P Anyway, if you are looking to get something similar done, then just drop me a line via the Contacts Page. xxx
Morning folks! I’m so happy it’s the weekend after a long busy week but that being said it has been eventful in a really good way with plenty of things to keep well and truly occupied. One of the things I had on my list of ‘things to do’ was to make this personalised baby grow – an order which I got through my Etsy store. Last year was so huge busy production time for me on the baby products with 13 family and friends I knew of that had kiddies, followed by a few extra commissioned work. This year is a sharp contrast (more weddings than babies!) so I must admit, I was pretty pleased to get my first ‘new baby’ order for this year. I was asked to make my elephant motif baby grows but instead of the name and date of the little ‘un as previously done before, the request was to add the words ‘I love my big sister, Freya‘ which I thought was super cute, don’t you think? Well, the overall design is really simple but works well as a keepsake item. So if you know anyone who would like one of these made for them, just drop me a line via my ‘getting in touch‘ page.
Oh, I guess I better mention it now while we’re on the subject of handmade and personalised goodies……I’ve bought myself some screen printing equipment with views to branching out more designs in that area. I’m really keen on taking my love for typology, illustrations, textiles and printing to another level…….so this means, I should hopefully have a growing range of goodies like personalised t-shirts, cushions, accessories, paper goods etc, albeit still limited edition as it wont be mass-produced! Fingers crossed, it all pans out well!! Anyway, I’ll keep you posted later on how I get on. Hope you like this in the meantime. Have a fabulous weekend!!! ;) xx
This was a commissioned piece for a friend who was looking for a bespoke wedding gift and I was asked to create a wall art bearing the wedding date of the bride and groom. I had a few ideas in mind where I wanted the overall look to feel regal and decadent yet keeping it elegant and minimalist at the same time. After a few test runs, I finally decided on using similar techniques used on the pieces I made for the ‘White on White‘ wedding styled shoot in summer, where the template (fonts and layout) was designed and hand cut to create a stencil. The numerals were then hand-stamped using a rich brushed metallic gold pigment ink on heavyweight cotton paper after which the lettering was handwritten in gold ink to finish it all off. I chose to frame the print in a simple white box frame where it was mounted 5mm off the backing card to create a lovely shadow gap which adds that extra bit of ‘oomph’ I think! ;) I’m pleased with how it’s turned – I think I may have to make one for ourselves to keep! :P Anyway, lets hope the recipient is delighted with it too! And luckily for me, I have another couple of more wedding gift projects coming up! Just the creative adrenaline I need so do stay tuned!! Oh and if you know anyone looking for something a little ‘bespoke’….let me know! :D xx
This was a commissioned piece for a dear friend and new parent who, after seeing my baby ‘BOY’ cushion that I had made a while back, wanted to have a cushion personalised with her baby boy’s name for his nursery. Since she didn’t know if she was having a boy or a girl, the colour scheme for the nursery was kept neutral with shades of green and yellow. The choice of fabric was therefore picked with this in mind by opting for a lovely green and white chevron fabric (by Riley Blake Designs) for the back panel, plain ice white fabric for the front panel, onto which the personalised and hand cut appliqué in this gorgeous leafy colours (by Jenn Ski for Moda Fabrics) were sewn – All fabric used in the making of this cushion were premium 100% cotton, stuffed with polyester filling, and laced with lavender. I will be listing this on my upcoming Etsy store for anyone that wishes to have personalised (30x25cm) cushions made to order. Please do let me know what you think!! :) [image credit: Made by Molu]
This is a glimpse into a recent commissioned work I did where I was asked to make a large personalised lavender-scented cushion in the shape of heart (using 100% cotton fabric) for a friend who was looking for a something ‘handmade’ for her sister’s birthday. So, if you are looking for something ‘bespoke’ and personalised, I can be available to discuss your ideas further….whatever they may be…..and draw up something to suit your needs. Always happy to discuss new and exciting projects! :) xx
