In the Press | An Elegant City Chic Wedding Shoot

This isn’t quite Christmassy, I know but I’ve been looking forward to sharing this styled shoot on here – one, we worked on back in April this year which got featured on both Wedding Magazine (October edition) and B.Loved Blog this autumn! I’ve obviously had to wait till after we secured those features to reveal any of it to you ;)

Styled and directed by my dear friend and wedding planner Elisabetta of Linen & Silk Weddings, this shoot encapsulates all the chicness you find in a über glamorous city wedding. It infuses a lot of monochrome vibes, clean lines with bright colours and rich copper hues to bring you a harmonised combination of both masculine and feminine elements…..reflecting both your modern-day bride and groom.

My role in this shoot was to design and create all the stationery elements and key installation pieces that involved a lot of hand-lettering…which y’all know by now, is what I LOOOOOOVE especially when they involve big backdrop pieces.

So what do you think? Don’t you just fancy a bit of monochrome love and all that copper jazz now!? I love how it oozes luxury but without it being all OTT! I think it would be perfect for New Year coming to think of it! :)

As always, it’s been freaking amazing working alongside some of the most super talented folk in the wedding industry so I do urge you guys to check them out if you’ve got a wedding on the horizon that needs planning. Oh and before I forget, here’s a beautiful little video of us working hard behind the scenes of this shoot, thanks to Edgar of Wedding Films London. Happy Monday!

{In the Press} A Modern Baroque-inspired shoot featured on Bridal Musings!

beautiful-baroque-at-trafalgar-tavern-242So last Friday, something exciting happened.

The styled shoot I worked on earlier in the year with wedding planner Elisabetta got featured on Bridal Musings! Yep, you have no idea how excited I was to finally see it on what is the most amazing wedding blogs out there (one of my top favourites!) and Elizabeth did a fine job of showcasing all the work that went into this shoot. Seeing this, was the best way to end a long busy and busy week.

This is my second and biggest styled shoot I’ve worked on since my ‘White on White‘ shoot, so you can only imagine my sheer delight when Elisabetta approached me about helping her design and style the shoot. I still vividly remember cross-checking my diary for the date she had in mind and despite it falling literally a day before I was due to travel, I jumped at the opportunity because it was too great to pass up on. Elisabetta is a perfectionist who pays great attention to detail and she would go to the ends of the earth to ensure that a creative vision is materialised. To work alongside her and a highly talented and reputable team of vendors in the wedding industry was an absolute dream come true – I cannot thank Elisabetta enough, for this!

beautiful-baroque-at-trafalgar-tavern-238beautiful-baroque-at-trafalgar-tavern-009Still unknown to many, a lot of work goes behind these inspirational styled shoots you see on blogs and glossy magazines; from inception to every finishing detail on the day. You need tons of creative vision, passion, dedication and pure hard graft to get the entire look created, set up and captured right. So to see it all come together nicely in these stunning photos, by Fiona Kelly, makes all the work incredibly worthwhile. And of course, it helps having a really good strong team of creatives! :)

So please do hop on over to Bridal Musings to read more about the shoot and I promise you, you will swoon over all the luscious detailing brought to you by these amazing ladies; decadent flowers by Paula Rooney, luxurious cakes and sweet treats by Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium, make up by Ana Ospina and hair styling by Kasia Fortuna. Let’s not forget the three stunning dresses we used from Ian Stuart and Kate Halfpenny (her gold studded jacket dress was my ultimate favourite), which we teamed up with accessories from LilaOlivier Laudus,  Halo & Co, Gilded Laband Freya Rose.

And here’s a few of my DIY input for the shoot, that included stationery, paper installations, calligraphy and hand cut place settings. You may have seen a glimpse of my behind-the-scenes shots a while back but I thought of perhaps doing a series of ‘get the look’ tutorials for some of them, if you are interested? What do you think? Alternatively, if you’re looking for any commissioned work on the stationery and décor front then please feel free to drop me a line via the ‘Contacts’ page! I’d be more than delighted to hear from you!

Once again, a big and heartfelt thank you goes out to Elisabetta for giving me this chance to let me do what I love most: styling, stationery and lots of DIY! You have made me one happy lady and I look forward to many more opportunities to work with you again! (PS. brides-to-be, if you are looking for a wedding planner to help you organise your dream wedding in London, Italy or Sharm El Sheik, then I cannot recommend Elisabetta enough!!)

Happy browsing folks! x x x

[Sneak Peek]: Wedding styled shoot

Late last month, just before I flew off to India for holidays, I got to co-style a wedding styled shoot with wedding planner Elisabetta of Linen & Silk Weddings. The best part about freelancing, is you get to work on all kinds of awesome projects and styled shoots are one of my all time favourites….so you could only imagine how delighted I was when Elisabetta asked me to jump on board to help with styling, décor and stationery! This is the second shoot I’ve helped style and once again, I’m incredibly fortunate to be working with some greats within the wedding industry! There’s a lot of hard graft that goes behind all these pretty shoots you see on blogs and in wedding magazines but boy, its worth every second of it…..especially, if like me you love all the DIY and hand-crafted elements that’s brought to the shoot. So, on that note, I thought I’d share a few teasers of what’s to come….mostly of the DIY stuff I did. I’m afraid I can’t reveal a lot at this stage so you’ll have to wait until the official photos are published. I for one, can’t wait to see all the stunning photos captured on the day by Fiona Kelly.

The more I get involved in design, styling and art direction, the more I want to get into that line of work. I cannot begin to tell you how much of a high I get out of all that hands-on work that goes behind it. I feel completely and utterly in my element…..and my gawd it feels so good! I’m definitely getting into the spirit of hand-lettering too which I hope to develop further. Anyway, here’s to many MANYmore of these amazing styled shoots and design projects! If you ever need a stylist, stationer, or DIY-er, you know where to find me! ;)

Enjoy lovelies! And I’ll definitely keep you posted when I can reveal more! xxx

[In the Press] Wedding styled shoot: A Touch of the Orient

YYW_mayjune14I’m so terribly sorry it’s been over 10 days since I’ve been active on here but I’m glad to say that I’ve come back refreshed after a much-needed break with my family….especially when we’re a million miles from each other. Saying ‘goodbyes’ gets harder and harder each passing year but I’m sooooo grateful that I’m able to see them once or even twice a year!

Anyhooo….I have some exciting news to share with you, which I hope will make up for my absence!! Well, last September, I had the most awesome experience working alongside some über talented people within the wedding industry on a wedding styled shoot that recently got featured in You & Your Wedding magazine!!!! This is the second styled shoot I got to be a part of last year……however, with this one…..I was involved from a much different perspective! ;)

The first time I heard about this shoot was when Elisabetta of Linen & Silk Weddings reposted an ad that wedding stylists and planners, Pocketful of Dreams had featured on their Instagram. They were looking for a ‘real couple’ to work on a shoot they had in mind…………and what do you think I did? Yep, I applied for it….after an afternoon of intense deliberation, of course! I even asked Elisabetta whether if it was a delusional idea to sign up for it and she encouraged me to do so! I’ve been big fans of Michelle and Vicki of PoD and although this wasn’t quite the conventional way of getting involved on a shoot, I thought it would be fun regardless. Besides, B and I were approaching our 1st wedding anniversary and I felt this would be a rather different yet exciting way to celebrate it! I mean….who wouldn’t jump at an opportunity to wear beautiful dresses, get made up and relive the entire wedding madness, one year on? ;)

So I applied, and I was taken by complete surprise when they got back to me saying they would be interested!! (Never in my wildest dreams did I think we’d be picked!) Anyway, I was so giddy with excitement (and nerves!!) that I TOTALLY forgot…….. I never quite told my hubby about what I had just signed us up for! So, I decided I’d keep it as a little surprise and break the news nearer the time but as I expected he wasn’t all to pleased at first simply because he’s not a huge fan of being in the limelight….or being photographed for that matter! However, when he saw how excited I was about it and the potential it had for me by meeting creative people in the wedding industry (albeit in a much different way) he soon came around to my so-called “crazy adventure”! (And that’s why I married him!)

Touch of Orient_Shoot 1[Image credit: ©Weddings by Nicola & Glen]

The shoot took place at Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons (I know!!!) where the Pocketful Of Dreams girls put together a marvellous set up for their East-meets-West inspired shoot (you can see their brainstorming ideas here) with the help of other talented collaborators; Krishanti who provided the staggeringly beautiful cakes and treats, vintage furniture by Kate, hand-written stationery by Gemma Milly, decadent flowers by Euphoric Flowers and finally, hair and make up by Sarah. It was a real honour to be a part of this beautifully executed shoot (everything from start to finish was utter perfection!) and to get to know such an amazingly talented team of creative individuals! For that I’m sooooooo grateful!! :)

Anyway, without further adieu, here are more breathtaking photos from that day and all credit goes to the talented duo, Nicola & Glen for capturing it perfectly….I wish I could put them all up on here but you’ll have to swoon over these for now.

Stunning right? I just love how they’ve combined elements of the two cultures beautifully where luxury can be achieved in an elegant, stylish and tasteful way. Coming from a middle-eastern and Indian background, I’ve seen many occasions where luxury and opulence verges on the lines of garish and OTT, so this shoot shows you exactly how it is done! I’m super chuffed for the team because they worked so hard to bring this shoot to life….as you can in these images.

As for us….we had a ball of a time…..and you know what still amuses me to this day……how much the hubby enjoyed the shoot in the end, strutting about in his October House suit! He actually envied me for having two outfits….Ah, the irony!! ;) And annoyingly….he looked far better than me!! ;) But hey – I got to meet Mr. Raymond Blanc in person and got a cheeky kiss from him! So it’s all good ;) I guess being ballsy and signing up to something I thought was ludicrous at the time turned out to be one of the most fun things we’ve done! Here’s to many more of my “crazy adventures”! ;)

{In the Press} Love My Dress wedding shoot feature!

white-on-white-MAIN-IMAGE_web[Image Credit: Craig & Eva Sanders Photography]

Some of you may have already seen my rather gleeful Facebook and Twitter updates earlier this afternoon (I couldn’t contain my excitement!) so I’d like to properly share the exciting news with my readers on here too.

Remember the ‘White on White’ wedding styled shoot I had the great pleasure to work on back in July with the lovely wedding planner Louise Macpherson? Well, I’m so thrilled to announce that it’s been featured on Love My Dress – a highly esteemed and award-winning wedding blog in the UK!!!! *shriek of delight* If you aren’t familiar with Annabel and her wedding blog then perhaps you may know her for her book Style Me Vintage: Weddings that came out earlier this year or for recently picking up a Perfect Wedding Magazine award for ‘highly recommended for the Best Blog’ category? Well if you still haven’t and you’re looking to indulge in elegant, chic and vintage-glamour weddings then you’ll find her blog an amazing source of inspiration from decor to fashion to lifestyle and I can definitely vouch for that!

Anyway, do pop over and check out the featured post by clicking here. I cannot express enough how grateful and honoured I am to have been part of this amazingly talented team of people (all part of the Glasgow Wedding Collective) who put their heart and soul to bring this design concept to life! Craig & Eva Sanders have captured the soft, pure and delicate mood so perfectly and to see these gorgeous photos again with all those little carefully thought out details, especially on Annabel’s wedding blog, makes this whole experience even more surreal and so fulfilling! If one can be ecstatic, overwhelmed and speechless at the same time…..that would be me right now!

And I don’t think I could say it enough but I will again: a MASSIVE and heartfelt ‘thank you‘ goes out to Louise (my former wedding planner and now good friend) for giving me this amazing opportunity to work with her on the decor and styling for this stunning shoot. She is one super talented lady with impeccable taste and great eye for detail – it’s an immense pleasure knowing her let alone working alongside her :)

Here’s to many more wedding prettiness and amazing projects! Actually, on that note, I can say that there is another fabulous style shoot coming up soon where I’ll be working with yet another team of inspiring, talented and widely acclaimed people within the UK wedding industry but I shall hold back from revealing too much now (you have no idea how hard that is!) and I’ll keep you posted when the time comes.

By golly, I think I’m on a complete wedding high this week!! :D

[Sneak Peek]: Wedding Styled Shoot – White on White

Okay, so here they are! Thanks to the talented Craig & Eva Sanders Photography here’s a little glimpse into the ‘White on White‘ Wedding style shoot that took place at The Lighthouse (Glasgow) in July. I’m absolutely excited by the final photos and I can’t thank wedding planner (and friend!) Louise Macpherson enough for the fantastic opportunity to work with her on the decor front for this shoot!! It really was a dream come true and I hope this is the start to many more fabulous opportunities! Well folks, there you have it!! :) xx
